A Young, New Leader Focused on the Future of Our Community
Hello, Nassau County!
My name is Jacob Schuster, and I am running for Nassau County Legislature in the 19th Legislative District.
I am a 26-year-old law school graduate who is eager to help make a change in Nassau County. Before obtaining my bachelor’s degree from Hofstra University, I graduated from John F. Kennedy High School in my home town of Bellmore. I was born and raised here -- this district is my home. I have always been active in the community, previously serving as a volunteer EMT, working on past county and state campaigns, and working in the district office of State Senator John E. Brooks.
I left New York for law school, but knowing that I could never live anywhere else, I returned back home and set out to making sure that this county becomes the best it can be. I see Long Island spiraling into an affordability crisis and the young people that grew up here leaving in droves. If we want to keep Long Island a viable option not only for the next generation, but also for our seniors currently living on fixed income, we must work to enact change now. I believe in investing in the sustainable future of Long Island, from infrastructure changes to accommodate the shift to green energy and technology, to common sense progressive ideas to address social and fiscal issues.
I am running to be legislator because I love my home and I want to make sure that we do all we can to make it a better place to live. I strongly believe in a brighter future for Nassau County, and I will fight relentlessly to make it a reality.
